The Faith That Guides Us
At Almost Heaven, we desire to create a peaceful place where individuals and families can slow down, draw closer to God, and take the next faithful step.
Our work is rooted in faith in Jesus Christ and trust in His Word. We welcome those who are growing in faith, returning after a difficult season, or beginning to explore what it means to know God. These beliefs guide the resources we create and the encouragement we share.
1. We Trust God’s Word
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is our ultimate authority for truth, faith, morality, and the way we live.
We approach God’s Word with reverence and gratitude, seeking to understand it faithfully and allow its truth to shape our hearts, choices, and daily lives.
2. We Believe in God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. In love, He gave His life on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into heaven. We look forward with hope to His return, just as He promised.
3. We Recognize Our Worth and Our Need for Grace
We believe every person is created in God’s image and has inherent dignity and worth. Each person we encounter deserves to be treated with care and respect.
We also believe all of us are born with a sinful nature and need forgiveness and redemption. Scripture, rather than cultural opinion or personal preference, defines sin. Our shared need for the saving grace of Jesus Christ calls us to humility and compassion toward one another.
4. We Receive Salvation as a Gift
We believe salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn it through good works or personal merit.
Genuine repentance is essential to a life of faith. It means turning away from sin and turning toward God in trust and obedience. His grace welcomes us into forgiveness and restoration and calls us to a changed life that honors Him. Grace does not give us permission to continue in sin; it gives us hope and strength to grow as we follow Christ.
5. We Honor God’s Design for Marriage and Relationships
We believe God designed marriage as a covenant union between one man and one woman, marked by faithfulness, love, and mutual care. We believe sexual intimacy belongs within that marriage covenant.
We look to Scripture to guide our understanding of marriage, sexuality, and relationships. We seek to uphold these convictions with humility and compassion, honoring God and treating every person with dignity and respect.
6. We Grow in Faith, Obedience, and Love
We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of learning to obey His Word, pursue holiness, practice self-control, love others, and forgive.
We all need God’s patient work in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit, He transforms us to become more like Christ. We desire to encourage faithful growth, trusting Him as we take each next step.
7. We Seek to Speak Truth with Grace
We believe truth and grace belong together in the way we care for others. We are called to speak honestly and humbly, extend compassion and forgiveness, and treat every person with dignity and respect.
Loving others does not require us to compromise the truth of God’s Word. We desire to reflect God’s holiness and grace in our words, deeds, and relationships, remembering our own continual need for His mercy.
8. We Create to Encourage a Life with God
Almost Heaven Publishing exists to inspire, equip, and encourage individuals and families to grow in their relationship with God through the truth of His Word.
We are committed to creating resources that honor Jesus Christ, remain faithful to Scripture, strengthen families, and encourage a lifelong pursuit of faith, obedience, and spiritual growth.
