Continuing to plant good seeds before the results become visible.
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
Be Still
Scripture
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good…”
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
Reflection
Some of the most important work we do leaves no immediate evidence. We pray faithfully, speak encouragement, offer forgiveness, teach the same truth again, or keep choosing kindness—and still wonder whether anything is changing. When the results remain hidden, discouragement can make us question whether our efforts matter.
Paul compares doing good to planting seeds. A seed disappears beneath the soil long before new growth becomes visible. The farmer continues to tend the ground because growth is taking place beyond what can be seen. In the same way, God may be working quietly within hearts, habits, and relationships before we recognize the harvest.
“Do not grow weary” does not mean we will never feel tired or need rest. Rest, support, and even a different approach may be part of faithful perseverance. The invitation is not to carry every burden alone, but to resist abandoning what God has called good simply because the outcome has not yet appeared.
This week, notice one good seed you have been planting. Ask God for strength to take the next faithful step, then release the timing and results into His care. Our part is to plant with love and remain faithful. God can be trusted with the growth.
Prayer
Faithful God, when our efforts feel unnoticed and the results remain hidden, renew our strength. Help us continue planting seeds of love, truth, kindness, and faithfulness. Teach us to rest when we are tired, seek wisdom when we need a different approach, and trust You with what we cannot yet see. Guard our hearts from discouragement, and give us courage to take the next faithful step. We place the growth, the harvest, and the timing in Your hands. Amen.
Conversation
What good seed have you been planting even though you cannot yet see the results?
What encouragement, rest, or support would help you continue without feeling that you must carry the work alone?
This Week’s Next Step
Choose one good seed you have been tempted to stop planting.
Decide on the smallest faithful action you can take this week—one prayer, encouraging message, conversation, or act of service. Complete it without demanding an immediate result.
At the end of the week, thank God for helping you remain faithful.
Journal Reflection
Where have I become discouraged because I cannot yet see the results?
What good seed might God be asking me to continue planting?
What would it look like to rest, receive support, and remain faithful instead of giving up?
May God renew your strength when the work feels unseen, give you courage to keep planting what is good, and remind you that no faithful act is wasted…
and may you trust His timing as He brings growth in ways you cannot yet see.
