Come Close
God is always ready to welcome you.
God’s Word for Me
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you.”
James 4:8a NLT
Have you ever moved closer to someone so you could hear them better? Being close helps us listen and talk.
We come close to God when we stop and give Him our attention. We can pray, read the Bible, sing, thank Him, or sit quietly with Him.
You don’t need perfect words. God loves you and welcomes you just as you are.
Let’s Wonder
What do you think it means to come close to God?
Which would you like to try—praying, reading a Bible verse, singing, thanking God, or sitting quietly with Him?
Create and Remember
Draw a little path on a piece of paper or use the coloring page below.
Along the path, draw pictures of ways you can spend time with God—a Bible, a music note, praying hands, or something you are thankful for.
Circle one small step you would like to take this week.
My Next Faithful Step
Choose the step you circled and try it once this week.
You can do it by yourself or invite your grown-up to join you. Even one small moment with God is a beautiful place to begin.
A Prayer I Can Pray
God, thank You for loving me. Help me come close to You and remember that You are near. Amen.
