Remain

Staying close to Jesus helps us grow

God’s Word for Me

“Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.”

John 15:4a NLT

Remain means to stay close and connected.

Think about a branch growing from a vine. The branch cannot grow fruit all by itself. It receives what it needs by staying connected to the vine.

Jesus says He is like the vine, and we are like the branches. We remain close to Him when we talk with Him, listen to His Word, and remember that He is with us. We do not have to make ourselves grow. As we stay close to Jesus, His life and love grow good things in us.

During an ordinary moment today, pause and pray, “Jesus, help me stay close to You.”

Let’s Wonder

Why does a branch need to stay connected to the vine?

What good things might Jesus grow in us as we stay connected to Him?

Create and Remember

Draw a vine with branches and leaves on a piece of paper, or use the coloring page below.

Add some fruit to your vine. Inside each piece, draw or write something good Jesus can grow in you, such as love, kindness, patience, or joy.

My Next Faithful Step

Choose one ordinary part of your day—when you wake up, eat a meal, ride in the car, or get ready for bed.

When that moment comes, pause and pray, “Jesus, help me stay close to You.”

You can practice it by yourself or invite your grown-up to join you.

A Prayer I Can Pray

Jesus, thank You for always being near. Help me stay close to You and grow good things in my heart. Amen
