Reflection
There are seasons when faithful living feels tiring. We may continue praying, serving, forgiving, or doing what is good while wondering whether our efforts matter. Weariness can narrow our vision until we begin to feel as though we are walking the path alone.
Last week’s invitation was to keep planting good seeds even when the growth remains hidden. This week, Scripture reminds us of one way God encourages us to continue: by remembering the faithful people who have walked before us and beside us.
Hebrews 12 follows a long account of people who trusted God through uncertainty, waiting, hardship, and change. Their stories were not easy or perfect, but they reveal a God who remained faithful through every part of the journey. Remembering their faith can strengthen us when our own steps feel heavy.
We may also remember people God has placed along our path—a parent or grandparent, a teacher, pastor, friend, or quiet encourager whose life helped us understand what it means to trust Him. Sometimes we need their wisdom, prayers, companionship, or example to remind us that we do not have to carry every burden alone.
Yet these faithful lives are not the destination. They point us toward Jesus, the One who begins and perfects our faith. When we feel weary, we can receive encouragement from others while keeping our eyes fixed on Him.
This week, remember someone whose faith has helped you continue. Thank God for that person, recall one truth their life taught you, and allow their example to encourage your next faithful step toward Jesus.
Prayer
Faithful God, thank You for the people whose lives have helped point us toward Jesus. When we grow weary, remind us that we do not walk this path alone. Give us humility to receive the wisdom, prayers, and encouragement of others. Help us remember the truths their lives have taught us without comparing our journey to theirs. Renew our strength, steady our steps, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the One who faithfully leads us forward. Amen.

Choose one person whose faith has encouraged you.
If that person is living, send a note or make a call to thank them. If they are no longer here, write down a meaningful memory or share their story with someone you love.
Name one truth their life taught you and carry it with you as you take your next step toward Jesus.
