Let Peace Lead

Staying close to Jesus helps us grow

God’s Word for Me

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.”

Colossians 3:15 (NLT)

Have you ever felt upset and wanted to answer quickly with an angry word? When strong feelings rise, it can be hard to know what to do next.

The Bible tells us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. That means we can pause and ask Jesus to help us choose our next words and actions. His peace can help us listen, speak gently, forgive, or say we are sorry.

Peace does not mean that everyone will always agree. It means that Jesus is with us, helping us respond with love even when something feels difficult.

The next time you feel upset, pause and pray, “Jesus, let Your peace lead me.”

Let’s Wonder

What do you think the peace Jesus gives us feels like?

Why do you think pausing before we speak can help peace grow?

Create and Remember

Create a Peace Stoplight. Draw three large circles and color them red, yellow, and green.

Beside each color, add these reminders:

RED: Stop and pause.

YELLOW: Ask Jesus for peace.

GREEN: Choose kind words and actions.

Place your stoplight somewhere your family can see it. When you begin to feel upset, remember to stop, pray, and let the peace of Jesus lead you.

My Next Faithful Step

This week, use your Peace Stoplight whenever you begin to feel upset:

Stop and pause.

Ask Jesus for peace.

Choose kind words and actions.

At the end of the day, tell someone about one time Jesus helped you let peace lead.

A Prayer I Can Pray

Jesus, thank You for giving me Your peace. When I feel upset, help me stop, remember You are with me, and choose kind words and actions. Let Your peace lead my heart and help me share it with others. Amen.
