Staying close to Jesus helps us grow
God’s Word for Me
“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other…”
Ephesians 4:2–3 (NLT)
Have you ever felt upset when someone moved too slowly, made a mistake, or did something you did not like? Being patient can be hard—especially when we are already tired or frustrated.
God teaches us to be humble, gentle, and patient. Being humble means remembering that we make mistakes too. Being gentle means using kind words and actions, even when we are upset.
Grace gives people room to try again. This week, when something goes wrong, pause before you react. Ask God to help you choose patience and make room for grace.
Let’s Wonder
When is it hardest for you to be patient with someone?
How do you feel when someone shows you grace and gives you another chance?
Create and Remember
Draw a large door on a piece of paper. With a grown-up’s help, cut along three sides so it can open. On the front, write:
“Make Room for Grace”
Behind the door, draw or write three ways you can make room for someone else—such as letting someone go first, sharing, or listening without interrupting.
Decorate your door and place it somewhere you will see it each day.
My Next Faithful Step
Each day, I will open my Grace Door and choose one of the actions inside.
After I complete it, I will add a heart or star beside it to remember how I made room for grace.
A Prayer I Can Pray
Dear God,
Thank You for always showing me grace. Help me be patient, use gentle words, and make room for others. When I want my own way, remind me to pause and choose love. Help me show others the same kindness You show me.
Amen.
