Reflection
We often wish God would show us the whole way forward. We want every question answered, every turn marked, and every outcome made clear. Yet the psalmist describes God’s Word as a lamp—not a floodlight. A lamp gives enough light to see where we are standing and to take the next step.
Scripture may not name every decision we face, but it reveals who God is and teaches us what is wise, loving, and faithful. His Word can correct an assumption, quiet a fear, redirect a desire, or bring clarity to something we have overlooked.
This week, bring one particular choice or situation into the light of God’s Word. Read slowly and listen for a truth that speaks to where you need guidance. There is no need to force an immediate answer. Let the words remain with you and shape the way you see the choice before you.
You may not see everything that lies ahead, but God’s Word can faithfully illuminate your next step.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving us Your Word. Bring its light to the choices before us and help us recognize what is wise, loving, and faithful. Quiet the voices that distract us, shape our hearts with Your truth, and give us courage to take the next step You reveal. Amen.
